Mediation in the framework of the Transition Plan 20-50-80 continued in the regions of Ukraine
24 april 2019
This time, mediation took place for NGOs in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhya, Dnipropetrovsk and Odessa region
The event was attended by representatives of regional non-governmental organizations that now provide services for the Global Fund.
“Mediation has allowed participants to begin the negotiation process with the aim of making constructive decisions to ensure the continuity of providing services to clients from target groups when introducing a new financial model – the Transition Plan from donor to budget financing.
Over the last month, we have not ceased to conduct Mediation Meetings for Ukrainian NGOs – potential participants in government procurement of social services for clients of key groups in an intensive mode. In general, representatives of the forty-first organization from 7 regions today were able to take the opportunity to discuss their interaction with each other with the participation of professional experts from the strategic group of the transition plan and a specialist mediator.
The negotiation process was not always easy; sometimes during the meetings one could feel tension and desire in any way to defend the interests of their NGOs. But, it is worth noting that the interests of clients for the sake of which these NGOs work, still took the upper hand and organizations managed to reach constructive cooperation, ” – noted Nadiya Tymoshenko, the expert of the Strategic Group.
It should be noted that these are not the first mediations that were held for regional NGOs. In particular, in the Kherson and Mykolaiv regions mediators were the observers from the CO “100 PERCENT LIFE”, ICF “Alliance of Public Health” and the CO “Institute of Peace and Accord”. During the negotiations, all parties constructively expressed their proposals, which made it possible to take into account the interests of all participants.
Effective mediation will ensure that clients receive quality services in a timely manner, and will also facilitate NGOs moving from one financial model to another.
Mediation meetings are held with the support of the Renaissance Foundation and CO “100 PERCENT LIFE”.
