Experts of Budget Advocacy School conducted a working visit to the Republic of Tajikistan

A series of consultation meetings took place in Dushanbe on March 11-13 as part of the regional project “Sustainability of Services for Key Populations in the Eastern Europe and Central Asia Region” (Sos_project).
The main purpose of the visit was to strengthen partnership and coordination of the state and civil sectors of the Republic of Tajikistan to ensure the sustainability of HIV services.
During three days, the participants held a series of meetings at the level of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Republican Center for the Prevention and Control of HIV / AIDS, the Agency for Social Protection at the Ministry of Health and Social Protection.
As part of the meetings participants:
♦ discussed issues of normative consolidation of ensuring sustainability of HIV services for budget funds;
♦ studied the experience of implementing the State Social Contracting in the Republic of Tajikistan;
♦ conducted training for representatives of NGOs of the Republic of Tajikistan on issues of budget advocacy and social contracting.
“Tajikistan’s HIV service NGOs has sufficient potential to implement a mechanism of social contracting (the State Social Contracting) that is already operating at the country level to provide HIV services. I would especially like to note the NGO SPIN Plus, whose experts are working on standardization of services for PLHIV, the calculation methodology and pricing, ”said Roman Drozd.
BAS experts expressed their readiness in the future to join the revision of these documents in order to accelerate the implementation of the State Social Contracting in the field of providing PLHIV services.
